About Brian Belton
Brian Belton, who was born, brought up and still lives just a five minute walk from the Boleyn Ground, is a lifelong West Ham supporter. He first stood on the terraces of Upton Park in 1959. The four year old looked at the green Upton Park turf ("That's all I remember about that day.") and from that moment it was his - he had been "Hammered".
As he grew, the claret and blue was the one 
constant in Brian's life. From Burke Secondary Modern, a string of jobs led him to the only thing he was really capable of - youth work. He went on to become professionally qualified and then completed a first degree at City University. Brian went on to be awarded an MA from the University Of Essex and has since gained a Doctorate from the University Of Kent. He has worked with young people all over the world and has been called upon to pass on his ideas about the non-colonial and anti-deficit nature of his work to others in China, Africa and the Falkland Islands.
